Marijuana is the most frequently used illegal drug in Canada. Many Canadians are uneducated towards the importance of marijuana medically. They see it as a harmful drug, which has little or no positive uses. This, however in untrue. I am going to prove that the decriminalization of cannabis will have a positive impact on Canada's health care and economy. Decriminalizing the drug will allow suffering Canadians to use marijuana as substance possibly enhancing their lifestyle. Many provinces in Canada feel that their courts are overflowing with cases involving marijuana issues. Too many Canadians are becoming criminals because of the use or possession of small amounts of marijuana. .
Marijuana also spelt marihuana and often-called cannabis was first grown over ten thousand years ago in ancient China, and other oriental countries. Many monasteries used marijuana arguing it as a gift from god. Its green, brown, or gray colour come from its mixture of dried shredded flowers and leaves from hemp plants. Although it is made up of more than four hundred chemicals, its main active chemical is delta-9-tetralydrocannabinol or THC. Marijuana has more than two hundred slang words including, pot, herb, weed, and Mary Jane. It is usually smoked as a cigarette called a joint but may also appear in a pipe or a bong and in cigars called blunts. .
Humans have receptors that bind to cannabinoids, which in turn have an impact on the central nervous system. The THC in marijuana is strongly absorbed by fatty tissues in various organs. The THC works as a bronchial dilator, which opens up the bronchioles to the lungs. Tobacco works the exact opposite, making it difficult to breathe and cough. It is also understood that we manufacture our own cannabinoid, which the body uses in pain control, much like the endorphins that are stimulated by exercise. Our natural cannabinoid is called an andamine, anda meaning bliss.
