            I do believe that the United States government is using terrorist threats as propaganda to start a war much like they used propaganda in World War II. The Bush administration attributed the attacks to Osama bin Laden, a wealthy Saudi Arabian living in Afghanistan who was suspected of terrorist activity. The United States believed that bin Laden and his organization, al-Qaeda, had been involved in other terrorist attacks against the United States, including the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 and the bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa in 1998. Bin Laden had been living in Afghanistan with the support of the country's ruling Taliban movement. In an address to Congress on September 20, Bush vowed to "direct every resource at our command to the disruption and to the defeat of the global terror network." He announced the creation of a new cabinet-level position, the Office of Homeland Security, in order to coordinate efforts across various federal departments and agencies and create domestic policy to protect against and respond to terrorist attacks. Bush appointed Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge to head the new office. Now that Bin Laden has gone into hiding and can't be found anywhere Bush decided to go in a different direction to fight the war on terrorism by setting his sights on Saddam Hussein, who was a big problem for his father. Bush or George "Dubya" as he is also referred to so he is not confused with his father George H. W. Bush, believes that Saddam Hussein is helping Osama Bin Laden with his terroristic intensions. Saddam is also under suspicion because he is hiding weapons of mass destruction. These are some of Bush's reasons for launching war on Iraq. But I and some others believe that he is also working under ulterior motives. The first reason is that when George "Dubya" was first elected president quite a few people thought him to be "soft" and that he was easily pushed around.
