Often people think that a prejudice is based solely on an individual's skin color, but that is not always true. Prejudice can be found between gender, religion, cultural and geographical background and race. People have discriminated against other people based on these attributes since the beginning of time. Prejudice has become a complex problem in our society today and much of our world's history is based upon hatred. What many people are becoming aware of is the growing numbers of hate crimes. Intelligence is how we can stop the senseless violence against our own kind. Prejudice doesn't affect just one group, it affects the whole world. .
What is racism? The belief that humanity is divided into stratified genetically different socks called races; according to its adherent's racial differences. Racism isn't limited to just different races. Many races often experience racial tension within their own race. It is not enough for other people outside of a race or culture to have ill feelings, but when you have to defend yourself from people of your own race because you are not tall enough, dark enough, light enough, etc it makes some people develop these feelings of hate. Racists often need someone to blame for their wrong-doings, hatred and stupidity in America. Who better to blame then someone of a different color? Racism is just another form of prejudice. If a person or group of people acts or dresses differently, these people may get distrusted or disowned.
What is a hate crime? A hate crime is an act in which individuals are victimized because of their "race, religion, sexual orientation or ethnicity."" However, a hate crime is not really about hate, but it's about biases or prejudices; essentially hate crime refers to criminal conduct motivated by prejudice. The ignorance that some people have is a main source of hate' that they have for a particular group of people.
