Tommorrow When the War Began - Character development

" P181. Kevin has two younger brothers and is a real rural, like Homer-but unlike Lee who lived in town above his parents" restaurant. He seems to talk mostly to Corrie, aside from when he is addressing the whole group. Homer has an older brother and has always been stubborn and strong minded, he grew up with Ellie, and in the war seemed to know the right thing to say at the right time. .
""You guys did well, don't feel so bad. This is war now and normal rules don't apply. These people have invaded our land, locked up our families. They caused your dog to die Ellie, and they tried to kill you three. The Greek side of me understands these things. The moment they left the country to come here, they knew what they were doing. They"re the ones who tore up the rule book, not us." "Thanks Homer," I said, he really had helped me." P96-7. Lee seemed to deal with his feelings by either withdrawing into himself or talking to Ellie, both of which he does frequently. .
Kevin, as the oldest in the group is the only one with his license-not that the others can't drive. He is very upset and shocked when he first find out about the war and some of the others opinions. ""I hate them," said Kevin, "I don't know why you"re all being so understanding. I just hate them and I want to kill them all and if I had a nuclear bomb I would drop it right down their throats." He was really upset, and he had stopped the conversation as though he had nuked it." P173-4. He doesn't want to let down the group, but he doesn't really want to do anything destructive either. .
Chris is a type all of his own. He doesn't really talk to anyone about his feelings, instead he pours it into his writing-poetry in particular. He is an only child, like Lee, and is really into drugs and alcohol, both of which he was well known for at school.
"He was also known for writing poetry and using more illegal substances then you"d find in the average police laboratory.
