Harry has friends

In a book about magic and witches and wizards, one wouldn't think friendship would be found as a prevalent theme. That is what sets J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter apart from the rest. The main character in her books, Harry Potter, has two faithful friends who stick with him throughout his adventures. They exhibit what I consider the true characteristics of a true friend. Such characteristics include trustworthiness, loyalty, a sense of humor, and a listening ear. .
Ron Weasley was the first person Harry met on the train to Hogwarts. Ron and Harry hit it off immediately, and soon became very close friends. The friendship was given a chance to prosper when Harry and Ron were placed in the same dorm. Hermione Granger is a friend to Harry also. The three of them are always together, and she helps keep them out of trouble the best she can. Hermione is a good student and helps the boys with their lessons. .
In the end of the book Harry, Ron and Hermione go to try to save the sorcerer's stone from being captured by Professor Quirrell who would use it for evil purposes. Each one had a special talent that they use to get through the different barriers into the room where the sorcerer's stone is kept. Each room had a different challenge to it, and each member of the group had a gift in each area. Ron was good at chess, and got them through a tough game in which the loser was captured and left to die. Hermione used her studying of herbology to figure out that one can keep a Devil's Snare from strangling someone by lighting a fire. Harry hopped on a broomstick and caught a key which unlocked the door to let them into the next room, and for the last room Hermione had to figure out a riddle which told them which potion to drink to pass through a wall of fire without being burnt.
Without each other's help none of them would have made it through the barriers to save the stone. One needs true friends to get through the trials of every day life, and those friends should be as faithful as Ron and Hermione were to Harry.
