Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr.
The book The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson is very entertaining and suspenseful. There are new mysteries in every page. The idea that someone could create a potion that would change him into someone else is mind-blowing. It was originally published in 1886 and is set in England in the nineteenth century. .
There are six main characters in the story. Mr. Utterson, a friend and employee of Doctor Jekyll, is mild mannered and kind. He narrates the story as well. Mr. Enfield is one of Mr. Utterson's friends and fellow lawyers; he is the only person that Mr. Utterson has met who has come into contact with Mr. Hyde. Dr. Lanyon is a friend of Mr. Utterson and am acquaintance of Dr. Jekyll as well. He has not spoken to or had contact with Doctor Jekyll in many years because of a difference of opinion about a scientific fact which neither Doctor Lanyon nor Dr. Jekyll can remember. Poole is Dr. Jekyll's butler of twenty years and is loyal and friendly to Dr. Jekyll. Dr. Jekyll is a well-respected member of the medical society and a friend of Mr. Utterson and Dr. Lanyon. He is fairly wealthy and somewhat old-fashioned. Mr. Hyde is a man about whom no one really knows anything except that everyone who has met him has disliked him for some puzzling reason. He is unkind and uncaring. .
The point of view is first person since it is told by Mr. Utterson. There are several conflicts in the story. Some of the minor conflicts are between Doctors Lanyon and Jekyll on the unknown scientific fact, Mr. Utterson and himself over what to do about Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Utterson and himself over what caused Dr. Lanyon's health to deteriorate and eventually fail, and Sir Carew when Mr. Hyde murders him. The main conflict is between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde over who will gain control of the doctor's body. Dr. Jekyll has created another person (using a potion he made) who is made up completely of the doctor's darkest thoughts and feelings; this person is Mr.
