It was a great day long ago when a savior was born in a small town called Bethlehem. To those who believe, capturing the spirit of that one true moment has been unfounded even today. Plays and musicals have tried to attain the magic of that remarkable day but George Frederick Handel has been the only successful one. Handel's use of the oratorio, a simple but powerful form of art, brought to life his birth and the salvation of humanity after his resurrection from hell and into heaven. The use of ordinary people without fancy costume and backed by a demanding orchestra display recreated that famous day.
His birth saved millions. Handel uses a soft tenor to recount the days before Jesus" birth and follows with a deep bass to reveal the turmoil that God has seen on the earth. God loved his people and he heard there cries saying, " Comfort ye, comfort ye, my people." A soothing alto reveals the plans that god has in store for his people. This alto is significant because her tone is soothing, just as the good news is soothing to the soul; again you feel the life of the event. A high soprano marks the excitement of the day at hand. Her high voice coupled with the softer alto proclaims the wonderful news of the savior born. " Behold I bring you good tidings.in the city of David a Savior is born.".
His death is saving millions. After the glorious night of his birth, Jesus soon dies on the cross and goes to hell for every sin that we are going to commit. He then rises to join God and awaits our return. Christ has just paid the ultimate price for every single person on the entire earth. He went to hell and back for EVERYONE, and now humanity is reformed. The people realize that a debt has been paid and they rejoice. A high soprano claims she knows what the lord has done for her and that he awaits for her in heaven. Humanity now knows that death is not the end, death is the beginning. The high soprano voice with the music claims the assurance of the mood that everyone should have.
