The mystery of the Wolf Man

Freud, Sigmund is the father of psychology because he developed a mental therapy technique called psychoanalysis. In psychoanalysis, it includes three major techniques: free association, dream analysis and transference. In the case of Sergi Pankejeff who is later called the Wolf-Man is one of the remarkable therapy that the dream analysis technique was used. As Freud described him, "One of my most acquiescent patients, with whom hypnotism had enable me to bring about the most marvellous results, and who I was engaged in relieving of him suffering by tracing back his attacks of pain to their origins" (Freud, 49). Freud feels proud with his dream analysis of Pankefeff. During the therapy, Freud has brought out a critical and controversial theory called the primal scene. However, most of the people think that Freud did not do a good job in this therapy. Also, there is a problem that Freud may have a subjective and wrong and diagnosis of Pankejeff, but leave the question to other people.
In the dream of Pankejeff, he describes his dream that " I dreamt that it was night and that I was lying in my bed. (My bed stood with its foot towards the window; in front of the window there was a row of old walnut trees. I know it was winter when I had the dream, and night-time.) Sudenly the window opened of its own accord, and I was terrified to see that some white wolves were sitting on the big walnut tree in front of the window. There were more six or seven of them. The wolves were quite white, and looked more like foxes or sheep-dogs, for they had big tails like foxes and they had their ears pricked like dogs when they are attending to something" (Freud, 186). It is so interesting that his dream was related to his parents having sex while he was in one and a half years old that Freud called the primal scene. However, to think in modern and scientific way, people will question that how a child can perceive and remember such a complicated action.
