If America would have acted against Hitler's regime sooner, his march across Europe would most certainly have been interfered wit hand ended. France probably wouldn't have surrendered and England would not have been threatened on their own shores. America made a big mistake by choosing not to become involved with the allied forces earlier in World War II. Perhaps much blood shed could have bee avoided. Saddam Hussein has amassed chemical weapons and weapons of mass destruction. This is a threat to the entire world. If America did not recently go to War with Iraq his people would still be living in fear of death. Hussein's power would continue un-checked posing greater and great danger as times goes by. But since America has sent troops to disarm Iraq, the Iraqi people are free of Saddam's reign of terror, and this evil man and his power no longer threaten the world.

Saddam Hussein's regime distinctly resembles Hitler's. It was, until very recently, a political system built on blood, fear betrayal and disseat. He came into power in the early 1970s. Hussein's intentions were to amass power, wealth and weapons. In 1990 his forces invaded Kuwait with the purpose of obtaining more wealth and power for Iraq. The US-led coalition forces went to war against Iraq in 1991. Saddam's Iraqi forces were soundly defeated, but it wasn't enough to deter Saddam from regrouping, rearming, and seeking to amass weapons of mass destruction. Saddam's aim was to dominate the entire middle-east region of the world, and he was willing to use any means to achieve this goal. His own people feared him more than anyone else because of the harsh reign. "Saddam is a dictator who is ready to sacrifice his country, just so long as he can remain on his throne in Baghdad,"" says a former Iraqi diplomat living in exile.
