I chose Madrid to be my topic on this essay because I find the nightlife and types of food to be very appealing. Madrid, the capital of Spain since 1562, is located on the geographic center of the Iberian Peninsula. Because of Madrid's central location and high elevation, the weather of Madrid is described by warm dry summers and cool winters. (Madrid is not just a cultural target), It is also a lively city with many pubs, cafes, and nightclubs open late into the night. There is really not a lot more to say about one of the finest capital cities in Europe other than that Madrid is also known for its food, wines, and desserts.
Many recipes from all areas of the country enter in Madrid's kitchen. Today it is almost impossible to say which dishes originally came from Spain, and which are from another country. Today Madrid offers more of a Spanish than a regional kitchen. There are many dishes of lamb and veal in Spain, (but probably a bit amazing taking into thought its geographic location Madrid is a real great for lovers of any kind of fish.) It has the second biggest fish market in the world, and as well in shops and also in many Restaurants you will find a good mixture of different kinds of fish that are of great quality. Very fitting to some meals are the sweet smelling wines from the region that are used when having dinner. For desserts there are many sweets, some are made especially for festivals.
.
Most of the foods found in Madrid have to do with fish or some other type of meat product. Most Food in the Iberian Peninsula copies the cooking in the Middle East and some American dishes that combine meat with chocolate. But really, it is just family cooking, really simple to get ready and it has kind of different ingredients than American food. Also meat, poultry, and fish, are used a lot in their dishes. Also there is a lot of dishes with beans, rice, eggs, vegetables, and great pies that finish the meal.
