Because this is a worldwide event, it would have an impact on many people that would visit Toronto, not to mention all the athletes, which is why the federal government has the power to prohibit the transit workers from going on strike. .
Having a transit system that works efficiently is crucial for the Olympics as it provides an effective method of transportation. If the transit workers went on strike, the millions of tourists would be left stranded and would provide undue hardship to all them. It would leave Toronto in a state of chaos, which is why it is crucial for the federal government to step in to stop this strike from ever occurring. .
