Fast food restaurants are a part of this country and many people that go to them will continue to go to them in the future. But when walking into these places the public should ask themselves, "Am I really getting my money's worth?" "What am I really eating: a burger or a cheap substitution?" Fast food places may seem to be nice and family oriented but all these places are moneymakers for big corporations that do not care about the people, but about their own wallet.
If you ask anyone they can describe to you the ins and outs of any fast food facility without delay. These similarities help them pull people in fast and get them out even faster. When people walk into one of these places they know just where to look on the menu to get what they want. Some even have the menu imprinted in their mind so that the menu becomes almost obsolete. Then comes the reason these people go to the fast food places, the food. All the fast food places around make most of their money from cheap, small portions, which they charge the public a lot for. A burger at McDonald's is said to be a quarter pounder but what a lot of people do not know is that it is a quarter pounder only before cooking. Plus now, McDonald's burgers are not even cooked over an open flame. The reason why fast food places are so fast and efficient is because the burgers are microwaved. It is so much easier to just microwave a burger then actually cooking it on a grill. The fries at a fast food place are also overly salted which makes people go back and buy more drinks. This how big corporations work. .
Next is the way they pull people into these places. Commercials and catchy phrases catch the eye of everyone who sees them. A lot of goofy mascots or big juicy burgers on screen drag people in and make them believe they are going to get exactly what is advertised. But of course when they order they get those little burgers with an overload of salty fries to make up for it.
