My opinion of an individual is that we are all unique and that is what makes us human. Our own characteristics make us different, if we were all the same then we would all think the same and therefor vote the same and that would take away from the fun of an election. The community is like a big individual with multiple personalities. Sure the majority of the community voted for one person, then a few people voted for brand X, but what about the people that didn't vote. I"d be willing to bet that if you took every one in every city in America that didn't vote it would more than double those that did.
"Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" One of mans oldest values is in fact liberty. Liberty is the freedom to pursue ones dreams or goals. Some people don't realize the freedom that they posses and so they waste away their how life thinking that they don't have the freedom to do so. However equality tells us that we are all equal and that we all have the same opportunity. Although there will always be discrimination even though we should be past that it will always be here. .
Democratic ideas always start out good but in the long run people start thinking, why the hell did I vote for that. In our text it says that basic values of democracy do not always coexist happily. Now I"m not real big on politics however I"m take a flying leap and say that the democratic party has all these great ideas, but when they come in to play the ideas that were once set in stone have suddenly remolded into something totally different.
The American Dream is defined as a complex set of ideas about the economy and its relation to individuals holding that the United States is a economic success. However this is a common misconception of people that come to this, so called land of grand opportunity. But the dream of a small house and a white picket fence has more or less flown out the window. In my opinion the dream of today consist of living how you most see fitted.
