Driving In Las Vegas Can Be Very Stressful.
Driving in the city of Las Vegas can be a very stressful experience. There are many factors that contribute to this stressful experience. Some of the reasons that I believe driving in Las Vegas can be so stressful are drivers being unfamiliar with the territory, or tourists, construction and the traffic that it causes, and the usage of cell phones while driving. .
One of the reasons that driving around the city can be such a stressful experience is because of all of the tourists and other drivers that are unfamiliar with the area. It seems a lot of that these people are very disoriented or lost while driving. This seems to be the cause of one of the biggest problems, in my opinion, sudden lane changes. Many times when unaware of your surroundings and locale, people need to make sudden lane changes to get to where they need to go. This sudden lane changing combined with people looking around while they"re driving, seems to cause a tremendous amount of problems.
Secondly, a cause of the stressful driving situation is construction, and construction traffic. Construction seems to be an ongoing thing and a cause of a lot of unexpected stress and time delays. This in turn causes the need for people to rush. The ongoing construction also causes a ton of traffic, and it seems to take twice as long to get anywhere you are heading; further adding to the need for people to rush. With all of the construction, there is a constant need for the transport of construction materials. This means that there is almost always a plethora of semi's on our roadways. This causes several problems, one of them being that semi's aren't able to drive in the same ways as normal vehicles. It takes them longer to speed up and slow down than it does a normal car, further contributing to the slow down of traffic. Secondly, semis are seen as being very intimidating and people have a tendency to drive rather erratic when in their presence.
