Malcolm X is a person who had changed throughout his life, because of the influences, and impact in different people. For example, in the book, The Auto-biography of Malcolm X, when he was a boy, a teenager, he was always getting in trouble at school. When he was a little older, he started doing illegal things, stealing, selling drugs to people, because of a friend he met. He had told Malcolm that he could make a lot of money selling drugs, so he did, and his business was really successful. He became a drug dealer, always doing drugs, pot, because of all the drugs he had been with when he was selling drugs. And one day, he and his friends had gone to a person's apartment and stolen tons of valuable items from them. That's when he got into big trouble. He was sent to prison for ten years. But in those ten years, he had learned something, something which had changed his whole life completely. He had become a Muslim, because of Elijah Muhammad. And because he had to write letters to Muhammad, he had to learn to write. At that time, he was still a very bad writer, and speller, but he learned. He read many books while he was in the dark, dirty prison cell, and like he had said in this book,I went to prison with a 20/20 vision, and came out with a pair of glasses.? After he was freed, he became a good person; he helped many Negron and he had found out from a trip to Mecca that Whites and Negron could be joined together and work together. This is Malcolm X in the book. In the movie, he wasn't like this?.
In the movie, Malcolm X, he was a lot nicer. He didn't do as much drugs and he did in the book. But he did learn a lot from Muhammad, and he did go to Mecca and found out that Whites and Negron could be friends, instead of enemies. This is how the portrayals of Malcolm X in the book and movie are different. In the book, he was more truthful than in the movie, but in the movie, he was much nicer.
