We are letting our lives be controlled by technology. The advances that are being made are destroying any belief that religion and tradition alike hold. Technology has traditionally evolved as the result of human needs. Invention will always rise-up to meet the free market demands of society. .
Certain inventions are modernizing us to the point that we are interacting with it, for example, the computer. We didn't think that we were letting our lives be influenced by technology, yet they are. In some ways technology has provided us with a better way of life. Computers have made things a great deal more productive and more precise; on the other hand some people may not like the fact that they are taking the easy way out. Some may think that computers are doing all the thinking, making the human mind less appreciated. .
In recent times artificial intelligence is being developed opposing what Erik Davis said, that machinery would never think on its own. Some believe that in the future, mankind will forge machines that will think as well as, if not better than humans do. It's most unlikely that we will ever converse or interact with a machine of artificial consciousness. There is no technological barrier to thinking machines, because our most advanced machines already think.
We are letting our lives be taken over by modern technology, which in turn has pretty much negated all views of tradition and religious views. We are no longer caught up in the naturalistic ways of life, we have let technology get the best of us. .
