Christianity

Once this is understood, the good life will just fall in to place effortlessly. .
The good life is made up of many different parts. But the main part is the ongoing relationship with God. This relationship is made when one truly believes in his heart that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior and gives their life up to him. This does not mean a physical relationship that we think of in today's society, but more of a spiritual relationship. A spiritual relationship requires faith and cannot flourish without it. This relationship is required because once this is established it is a foundation that we can build everything else upon. This can be compared to Rene Descartes" use of systematic doubt, subjecting all knowledge to doubt to find the one truth. But people could argue that this relationship is not the one truth, but through my personal experience I have seen people with this kind of bond with God and they have always been content and happy with their lives. After this has been established, we must look to the Bible to find what is morally good and evil. .
First of all, God gave us free will to do as we please. But, God created us as imperfect beings which makes us do irrational things. I believe this part of us was created because if we were perfect, there would be no point in having a God. But since we aren't perfect, there is a constant need for God, which through him we will achieve perfection. This idea could relate to Hegel, who believed that our goal in life was to reach "The Absolute". This was the final destination of all things. Though my ideas do not agree with Hegel's ideas, I do believe that his basic concept of the absolute relates to God. God is what we strive for, and everything is in a constant motion towards God, whether people know it or not. People always search for that missing part in their lives, which can never be fulfilled by worldly things. Only when they realize that God is the only thing that is eternal will they live a happy life.
