I can do some fun activities when I go on a cruise to the Bahamas. First, I would like to check out the beaches. The Bahamas has the clearest waters in the world with visibility of over 200 feet. With that said, I believe this would be the only place I would actually go into the water without a fear of sharks coming to get me. Science has proven that a specific alga, which requires light to live, is found deep in the Bahamas than anywhere else on Earth. The waters in the Bahamas, from what I hear, are the best for any kind of activity such as boating, ecotours, fishing, diving and snorkeling. While I am checking out the beaches I would also like to see the 120 different species of plant life found only in the Bahamas. Second, I would like to learn about the Bahamian culture; I would like to see how they prepare their different types of foods. One of the things they eat is conch, a large type of ocean mollusk that has firm white, peach-fringed meat. In one recipe it is fresh, uncooked conch meat that is scored with a knife, then sprinkled over the meat are lime juice and spices. Other delicacies include broiled or baked land crabs, which can be seen, before they are cooked, running across the roads after dark. Finally, what would be a vacation without a little bit of shopping? I always have to bring something back as a souvenir. Another reason to shop at the islands is because it became effective January of 1992, the Government of the Bahamas abolished all import duties on 11 categories of items. The items included perfumes & fragrances, crystal, leather goods, jewelry, fine linens & tablecloths, watches & clocks, photographic equipment, china, binoculars, and telescopes. The savings range from 25%-50% below U.S prices. I have to say, I will definitely enjoy my vacation to the Bahamas.
