The war of 1812

The war of 1812, an unnecessary war fought between Great Britain, United States, and France, was partly a result of the successes of Napoleon and his French army. America was officially neutral in the war between Britain and France, but trade with both. One tactic of the English was to restrict trade between France and any countries allied with France. They did this through their superior navy. The Americans had been supplying many needed goods to France. England effectively blocked all trade between the French and the U.S. Atlantic and Caribbean coasts. Only vessels that had first passed through a British part were allowed to sail unimpeded to the United States.
Napoleons Idea was to get control of Britain's hemp, as it has been for thousands of years, the biggest business and most important industry on the planet. If they got rid of the hemp that Britain had, then they could slowly take down the British Navy. What for I ask? So Britain wouldn't take over France? No! Britain never had the intentions of taking over France, but only protecting their country, the one that Napoleon was trying to obtain. We see this through, Napoleons history, he would gain control and he would just want more. Although Britain was trying to protect their country, they were also at fault for this unnecessary war through England. England, once defeated and driven from the country was only anxious to try again to redeem her lost honour, so they retaliated. America also upset because of Britain's attempt and blackmail to stop their trades with France, acted on impulsive ambition of the politicians like Calhan, Clay and others to turn the popular prejudice against Great Britain to their own political advantage. These reasons all unjust and unfair reasons for war. There was a loss of over 100,000 lives and thousands of millions of dollars, all fro a war of land and power. What truly came of this war? Nothing!!.
