Picture yourself in this situation; you are a seventeen year-old girl that just found out that you"re pregnant. The father isn't around, and you are on your own with no support from any relatives or friends. What do you do? Do you get an abortion and never have to think about the baby again? Or do you keep it? If you keep it, how in the world will you learn how to be a mother so soon? There are reasons as to why you should or shouldn't keep the baby. This essay will be able to explain why I believe abortion is not the answer.
We have all seen babies. They seem to be everywhere! In strollers, carriers, in mothers" arms, or screaming during the best part of the movie you are trying to enjoy with your family. When you see the little fingers, reaching out to grab anything of stability, or the little toes wiggling out from under that little pink blanket, do you start thinking about killing that baby? Most likely not. That baby that you are adoring and making goofy faces at started out as a little fetus. So did you! In my opinion abortion is legalized murder. Did you know that a fetus" heart starts forming on their 18th day in the womb? They have a heartbeat just the same as you or I, there is no difference whatsoever. Still, people are having abortions every day, killing innocent children that have no way of standing up for themselves, or to say that they want a chance for life.
When at toddler falls down and bumps their head, they scream. It's only natural. If you were to prick a two-month-old with a needle, they would start crying and screaming in that way only babies are capable of. In the same way, the fetus that is killed during an abortion procedure is able to feel pain. They know that they are dying, while you are aware you are causing that pain. It just seems odd to me that mothers are able to inflict pain on someone that is inside of them, that they created, while there are so many other alternatives to the situation.
