In the book "Fast Food Nation" it gives a statistics through survey given to children and results were that 96 percent of the children could identify who Ronald McDonald was. This explains the big value among the children. 96 Percent is a large percent of children that know Ronald McDonald, this shows that many kids value McDonald's. .
             The advertisement of the fast food industries has many audiences but the primary people they try to attract are children. "As American cities and towns spend less money on children's recreation, fast food restaurants have become gathering spaces for families with young children." (Scholsser 47). The "playgrounds" in fast food restaurants attract the children and their guardians. The so-called "playgrounds" are nothing but a lure to attract children and their guardians" money. The fast food industry is growing by the minute, and as the growth continues so does the competition. Almost everywhere you look you see advertisement for some food company whether it's on the television or the radio. McDonalds went as far as making a movie entitled "The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald" to advertise. The culture of fast food is a big thing in our nation. The culture of a society defines how people behave in relation to others and physical objects. In the book "Fast Food Nation", Schlosser shows a way of advertisement that works mostly amongst children but some adults as well. The sell of toys through meals is a great way to make profit. Children want the toy more than the meal, and some adults just like to collect them. This represents fast food culture because it shows that people want to buy more meals because they"ll get a toy with it. It shows the way people behave and act towards toys (the physical object) and meals.
