Animal Farm

Orwell shows commitment to Napoleon and dedication to the farm through Boxer. After fellow Comrades were slaughtered by Napoleon, Boxer is confused. However, he comes to the conclusion of not questioning their justification, but to work harder and "get up a full hour earlier in the mornings," (Orwell 84) Orwell exemplifies Boxer's stupidity with this action, but Boxer is a leader and the animals look to him for guidance. Because of Boxer's fortitude to look past the death of many and into the future, he sets the example for other animals. During the Russian Revolution, several workers were sent to work in factories to increase production, "as the influx of workers headed for the city caused the cities to become overcrowded, working conditions were poor and wages were low, revolution must begin with the proletariat or the workers," (Creation of Totalitarian States). The proletariats are dedicated but tricked working class, they are the foundation of the country. When proletariats seek change, things happen. A dedicated worker's way of giving inspiration and direction to others strengthens the leader's power.
Propaganda is a strong influence on individuals and groups, and is used immensely in a totalitarian government. This poster persuades the women that you are able to work and still be feminine by the white lace and cleanly look. When citizens see the prestige women working in factories, it appeals to them the way that the government intended.
