Every continent, country, state, town, and street has his or her own unique cultures. New Jersey is a state that has many different cultures that are unique and make them very different from other states. These cultures are both material and non-material ranging from the parkway, the idea of going to the Jersey Shore, and the way people wear their hair. The parkway is a very unique culture that New Jersey has. New Jersey is known as the Garden State, and because of this, the Garden State Parkway was formed. The parkway is a highway that runs basically the length of New Jersey, and I believe that every person, who has lived in New Jersey, has drove on at one point in his or her life. The parkway makes it much easier to travel in New Jersey. This is a very unique culture. .
Another unique culture is that way that people in New Jersey seem to wear their hair. This typical hairstyle classifies a person as a "surfer" or "dude". These people tend to have bleached blonde hair, and have it to the length where they can run their hand through it. This is typically how a person is viewed as when thinking of somebody from New Jersey. Another part of culture New Jersey has is the "New Jersey Accent". I myself cannot really talk about this, being from New Jersey. I do not see myself as having an accent, but whenever I meet somebody from another state they know that I am from New Jersey just by the way I talk. .
Finally, I think the most unique culture New Jersey has is the Jersey Shore. Whether it is Seaside, Long Beach Island, Point Pleasant or Cape May, people from other states and even from New Jersey love taking trips and vacations to the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore is probably the most popular shore on the east coast. These are cultures that make New Jersey very unique. When somebody thinks of New Jersey, this is what he or she think, and they are basically correct in their thinking.
