This is where children have become vulnerable to abuse and sexual exploitation including, prostitution, trafficking, sexual tourism, pornography and rape.
Children have also been used as drug carriers, ritual killings , child labour, sale of children for future brides, informal economy (beggars), children murdered and guttered to transport drugs over seas and to supply black children overseas for new sexual experiences.

Abuse has become unmanageable in South Africa with a reported 15,650 rapes of children were reported between January and September 2001. 5,859 out of these reports were of children under the age of eleven. Young children are "exposed for every type of sexual abuse imaginable." In some of these case children have been beaten and killed for their silence by their perpetrators.

Children are persuaded or "tricked" into performing sexual acts and are pulled into a vulnerable situation by having been bribed with shelter, money or an education. With children moving on to the streets it is a serious issue to protect and prevent child abuse towards children who are too young to yet even maintain a safe living. Children are being enticed into a situation where they are not well educated in how to deal with the situation. There also have been cases reported where children have been persuaded into sexual acts as the perpetrators claim they are traditional healers.
