Another major issue to the death penalty is the factor of retribution. For many people who have lost a loved one to a senseless murder want retribution, but is it really acceptable in our society? When a person takes another person's life, justice is disturbed and unless the balance is restored, society turns to violence. Some people feel that the only way to restore justice is to take the life of the murderer by use of capital punishment, to show that the crime of murder will not be tolerated in our society. The offenders that commit the crimes that the death penalty is applied to, deserve to suffer, because they have committed a very cruel act.
