Wellness is defined as the condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise, and habits. The question is do I consider myself to have good wellness? In some aspects I do and in others I know that I can do better than what I am now.
Time management is an important part of wellness. I usually manage my time pretty well. I allow myself enough time in the morning to do everything I need to do to get ready, have time set aside for my homework, and time set aside to be social or go to the gym. Time is sometimes a difficult thing to balance especially when something is thrown into your schedule that is not usually there. Most of the time I can deal with something being thrown into my schedule. I do not let it mess the rest of my day or planning up.
Physical health is a huge part of wellness. I actually think it is one of the most important parts. I try my hardest in this area. I work out as often as I can and I try to eat healthy. Although sometimes I may cheat a little by eating a few more sweets than I should or not making it into the gym, I always try to make up for it in the long run. My whole family is athletic and I have always been taught to eat well. I even told myself before I came to college that I was going to have the same eating and exercising habits that I did at home. While living at home I always tried to watch what I ate. My mom very rarely had junk food in the house so that helped out a lot. My sister and I also would go to kickboxing class two to three times a week to keep in shape. There is many times where I know I don't take the best care of myself but most of the time I try my best.
Mental wellness is something that I think many people may have a hard time talking about. They may know that they are mentally unstable but not like to admit it or talk about it. Me personally, I think I have my days when I"m not so sure how stable I am and I honestly think I may need some kind of counseling.
