Connections between 'In the End

The song In the End has a lot it common in my life because it seems like there is never enough time to do what you want. I remember back in middle school you would come home and do maybe fifteen minutes of homework then do whatever you wanted. We are just too busy now to have that extra time. They say in the song "time is a valuable thing, watch it fly by as the pendulum swings". Once you understand how precious time is, you learn not to waste it. It seems to be like that with a lot of things. Some things we take for granted we should not, because once we do we become unable to function without them. The song also goes from fast in some parts to slower in others. Also true in life. When you finally find some time on the hard earned weekends, it seems to fly by so fast, whereas the all the hard work you did to get there seemed to take forever. It seems like that what the whole song is about is that in the end, no matter how much time you spend on something, you could still screw some things up. The following quote demonstrates my point. "I tried so hard and got so far but in the end it doesn't even matter". Some things you can screw up no matter how much time you spend on them, kind of like my tests that I spend forever studying for. For example, my math class. I seriously study for that class more than all my other classes combined because it is the one I have the most trouble with. With all that studying, you would think I would have an A in that class. Instead I have a B-. I guess that it must be true. "I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end it didn't even matter.".
