Once there the servants who run the manor on the island inform them that the owner of the island is currently out, and will be joining them all shortly. The guests have dinner, but are interrupted by a recorded voice stating that each person in the room has committed a murder. They all sit down after dinner and discuss what the voice had said, when Tony Martson dies after drinking some poisoned whiskey. The next morning, Mrs. Rogers, the servant, is found to have died in her sleep. The group takes notice of the poem in each of their rooms about ten little Indian boys and how the murders so far have reflected the poem. John Macarther feels sure that he will die next, and goes out to look at the ocean. He is latter found dead, murdered by a blunt force to the back of his head.
