Thomas Edison was probably one of the greatest inventors of all time. He was born in Milan, Ohio, when electricity was still thought of as a novelty or fad by the society.
As a youngster, Thomas asked questions constantly. In 1854 He moved to Huron, Michigan at age 7 where his formal education lasted only 3 months. This is because he told his mother that the schoolmaster called him ''addled''. His mother took him out of school. Then the parents hired a tutor to teach him about mathematics principles and unique style.
However, he disagreed with the principles because of how confusing the theories were to the average person and began to have a dislike for ''high-tone'' language and mathematics. As a job, he sold 400 daily copies of '' The Weekly Herald.'' At age 11, He was taught to use resources in the library by his parents. This led him to prefer learning through independent self-instruction.
At age 12,Thomas read the whole World Dictionary of Science and most of Practical Chemistry. He soon set up a business selling vegetables. On a train he gets called as a "candy butcher" or newsboy by what he did for a job on the train. At age 15, Thomas saved a boy in a train accident from almost certain death. Then he became a regular telegraph operator. He stuck with this job for nearly five years.
Then he became an inventor and created interest in World History and English Literature. Sad to say, he had ADS (attention deficit syndrome), but luckily no one knew it. When voting for President Thomas, he set up campaign literature for Abe Lincoln.
Thomas had a family, he had middle-class parents and he married Mary Stilwell, one of his shop workers in 1871. After the ceremony he left to work in the lab leaving his beautiful bride puzzled. Thomas had become a husband and a father.
