There are many types of television shows to choose from these days.
No matter what your style, you can usually expect to fill your needs. .
To easily decide what type of show you want to watch, they can easily .
be broken down into separate groups. Because there are so many, .
anywhere from talk shows to county westerns, I am only going to cover a .
few types, which are fairly popular on network television today.
.
The first type of television show is drama. Drama can be expressed .
through real life tv such as on TLC's Emergency room or Discovery's .
Detectives, but shows like CSI, Law & Order, and ER are typically .
considered to be a drama. These three shows all seem to cover the .
different aspects of life such as humor, sadness, grief, homicide and .
so on. The shows almost always have these problems endured solved and .
issues dealt with by the end of the one hour long show. Drama tends to .
have a plot or theme to it rather than just showing the daily doings of .
someone's life. The show Law & Order for example depicts all aspects, .
from the police, lawyers, victims, and the offenders. The variety of .
characters helps to keep the show interesting as does the different .
crimes depicted and the ways they solve things. You can never quite .
tell what will happen on the next week's show.
.
Another type of tv viewing is comedy. Comedies are light and if you .
want a good laugh it is what you should choose. Unlike with drama, .
comedies tend to be half an hour long and don't usually have a lot of .
suspense or change from week to week. The show Friends for example, is .
about a group of friends who are always together, hanging out in a .
coffee shop or Monica's apartment, and always seem to have lost their .
iq's somewhere in outerspace. Another funny, yet fairly readable show .
is That 70's Show. This portrays a group of friends and their parents .
in a 70's setting. Week to week, you get to see the gang hanging out in .
a basement, drinking beers, and almost always having a dispute over .
