Gay marriage

Being a gay Christian however, is in a way rejecting the offer for forgiveness if one intends to marry. This happens because this person is not trying to repent or struggling to change from sinful behavior in front of God. Having said all this, I do not believe that the gay community is intending to gain recognized marriage from the Christian church or any church for that matter by trying to legalize gay marriage in the state of Massachusetts and therefore this argument needs to be put aside for the time being. This country was founded in a way that the state should separate itself from religious views in trying to come to a conclusion about legislative issues.
In determining whether the state should allow gay marriages, let us first examine the arguments that those who oppose gay marriage make about why the state should not legalize gay marriages. All arguments having to do with religious values will be put aside for reasons stated above. The first argument to be examined is children .
A child brought into this world by men and women joined in a union is the way God intended it to be before sin entered the world. These two individuals are the ones that should raise this child but of course this is often not true. While it still obviously takes a man and woman to produce a child, there are many circumstances in which both or neither raise the child. One parent can die for example, or one can just simply leave and not be involved. Neither parent may be able to take responsibility for the child in which case the child may be raised by adoptive parents or other family members. Either way, a child may not be raised by it original parents.
Those who oppose gay marriage often point to the fact that because the couple is married they will have the right to raise children and this would be wrong because they cannot create one of their own. This argument can be refuted by looking at natural marriage between men and women who are infertile because of medical reasons or just because of old age.
