Lessons learned


             When covering the budget there were some difficulties in creating a plan that can be utilized to be cost efficient. There were times where materials were bought that were not used. Some materials that were bought were not of the best value as some others found later. Hence we learned to research the materials thoroughly before purchasing anything. We also learned that a concrete budget helps keep organization tight. With a concrete budget, it would have been better if we updated it more frequently. This would of helped out with our time management.
             While going through the trials of building and testing the weather machine we overcame many obstacles. We discovered the engineering meaning of teamwork and problem solving. We learned to trust our teammates to do there tasks as time was very limited at the meetings. And as a group we overcame problems by adapting our methods of thinking to accommodate each situation that we faced. The problems that came up during the manufacturing and testing processes, it was learned, could be easily solved. Being engineers, we learned that using every resource available to quickly nullify a problem is the best way, may it be researching it online, or asking others for help. Then we also learned the hard way of solving problems through the feedback we would retrieve through testing (trial and error).
             Finally we have gained much experience meeting the expectations of the project. This project was for our team to design and construct a product that satisfied the specifications of the employer, being Professor D"marzo. Doing so, we were to keep the project inside a certain budget and time frame. This kept us in the mindset of what we will be doing as professionals after graduating college. .
