            In the Thomas Friedman the Lexus and The Olive Tree he reveals the new formula that the post cold world era has impose. The author provides a manual that explains the opportunities and dilemma that the globalisation has cause to the world society. Friedman divides the world in to two jargons; one is the part of the world that seems to be focus on the technological development, economic growth and free trade while the other part seems to be focus on political clashes, nationalistic movements, and economic isolation. The author who is a senior affairs writer for the New York Times uses his world travelling experience to make understandable examples of his theories on globalisation. Thomas Friedman divides the book in to four parts, Seeing the system, Plugging into the system , The backlash against the system and "America and the System". Each part is divided in to chapters in order, the whole book consist of twenty chapter in all four parts.
             In the first part "The New System" the author starts his book quoting a movie, which symbolises the format of the book where the writer narrates an anecdotes to introduce his theory. Then he uses the same anecdote to give examples on how his theory is going to evolve. Friedman first idea he exposes is the fact that the world has change since the end of he cold war. He calls it the post cold-war era which has its origin from the Soviet Union and the United States conflict. Friedman assumes this conflict was a clash of economics model where the most productive and lest centralized succeed. Somehow this Economic model it resembles to the globalisation system since they have many aspect in common. However the globalisation that the writer refers is more broad since it consist in political, cultural and economical models for the world society.
             Thomas Friedman refers to the new system as the democratisation of Information since every world citizen can have ease of access to the world of information.
