The story of Olaudah Equiano

I would imagine that he exaggerated a little bit. Olaudah probably knew that if he could inform people about what he saw then they would understand what happened a little clearer. Anyone would have made that story sound worse than it was, just so that no one would want to do it again. Kind of like the saying "history reapeats itself". His story about when he was kidnapped was a little strange. He describes something that few people have experiened, so I really don't know how to relate to it. But I do think he was telling the truth. His story was pretty detailed so i do not think that he was lieing or exaggerating. A good way to check the believibility of the beginning of the story would be to see if his sister wrote about what happened. If their stories match then Olaudah is probably telling the truth. .
In the second half of the story, Olaudah talks about the slave ship that took him to the country he was sold in. He gives a very scary description about what he saw and what he felt while onboard. His accounts of the ship match up with the stories many other slaves have told. That shows that he was probably telling the truth about this as well. He says how the slaves were packed in the ship so tightly that they could hardly breath. I do not think i could stand being so close to that many people for so long. .
Later in the story Olaudah shares his experiences of being a slave. He talks about being sold to the white people. If he were to bend the truth a little in this part of the story it would be okay. I would imagine that he was so scared that he thought he was telling the truth in the first place. Overall this story was pretty believable. Not many things happend to Olaudah that didn't happen to other slaves as well.
