             In all the Jing-Mei Woo stories June has to recall all of the memories of what her mother had told her. She remembers how her mother left her babies during the war. June's mother felt that she was not a good mother so she was not a good person also. When she made June take piano lessons June thought that she was trying to make her become a smartest child, but her mother did not mean that she thought it would good for Jean's the rest of her life. .
             After June's mother died, she was forced to take the place of her mother. She was not just replacing in the Maj Jong table. She took everything form her. June trip to China to accomplish of her mother's promising. She switch her mother and her tradition to her sisters by honor her sisters.
             "And I think, My mother is right. I am becoming Chinese"(Tan 306). June and her mother have become the same kind person. The only difference being their thoughts, June with American, her mother with Chinese. This has kept the mother-daughter tradition alive but it is not very strong. This happens often, but there is always something that sticks and transfer from generation from generation.
             In traditional Chinese culture, many judgments made about people by.
             observing their sex. The women in Chinese culture were in very low status. They had a little or no status in society, and little was expected from them. They were very hard when they tried to stand up for themselves. In Chinese culture man was dominated everything. The male was expected to do most of the work, and the woman was expected to stay at home with their mouth shut. This custom gave an unlike feeling in a woman's heart. They feel like nobody cared them, and it was very difficult for them to live with an optimistic view on life. .
             The Joy Luck Club, Ann-Mei Hsu, Lindo Jong, and Ying Ying St are all women who grow up in a traditional China, where there is sexism. They deal with serious problems that corrupt their lives.
