Piece vs violence in leadership

Leadership is a concept whose meaning varies with time, conditions and the field of interest; indeed, an army commander's ways of attaining his/her pre-set goal greatly vary with a diplomat's approach on achieving his/her goal. Specifically, in the field of politics, there are two main approaches to the issue of a leader's way of attaining his/her pre-set goal. One perspective defends that a leader should be violent, in contrary to the view which supports that leaders should be peaceful on their ways of reaching their goals. Bearing in mind the fact that we are living in a civilised world, it can be observed that leadership qualities consist dominantly of peaceful and compromising attitudes rather than violent ones, especially on the issue of racial discrimination; thus, an ideal leader should not be a wicked and a violent one on his/her ways of approaching a pre-set goal, eliminating racial discrimination. .
Racial discrimination is an issue that has been existing on the world for centuries; it is destructive, unfair and painful. For these reasons, in order to cease these harms, lots of leaders have fought. Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X are among those leaders who has fought against racial discrimination; Martin Luther King has choosen a peaceful attitude as his way on his fight, whereas, Malcolm X had choosen a violent and a radical way. The important thing here is that, both of them are fighting to reach a certain goal: to cease racial discrimination against black people in United States. Malcolm X, as if he is in an active war, uses violent and unpeaceful ways against his opponents; in a way, he is trying to respond to fire with fire. But how logical this attitude is, when it is obvious that violence gives certain advantages in law to their opponents, that are white people. On the other hand, Martin Luther King sees this fact and acts as peaceful as possible, and invites his people to be compromising too; he sees that violence can support this issue only to some extent, and eventually become ineffective.
