Allergies. What are they?

Your immune system is always fighting battles to get rid of germs and nasty substances that come your way, but sometimes there's just no holding it back. It's about time we find out the real deal on what causes this to happen and what you can do to help. You should know what is going on in your body when an allergic reaction hits. Some things that cause this to happen might just be a shock to you! Most people don't realize that there are many different allergies out there, and they should be taken more seriously because some could have long-term effects. .
An allergic reaction occurs when the body's immune system has an over reaction to allergens it thinks to be harmful for you. They can be caused from viruses, bacteria, parasites, pollen, dust and other substances that enter the body. Your system treats them as if they are harmful then some kind of reaction will occur. When this happens the body is going through a few different stages. It must first release cells that try and get rid of the problem. You then begin to produce (IgE) antibodies that work to break down the substance. They antibodies attach to a mast cell and wait for the allergen to come again. When the allergen returns the antibodies get rid of the mast cell and then releases chemicals into the blood. This is when the real reaction occurs. If the allergen was in the air it will cause a running nose, itchy and watery eyes, and breathing problems. If the allergen came in contact with your skin it can cause all the reaction with airborne allergens and itchy rashes. If the allergen was ingested then problems can occur in your mouth, stomach, and intestines. Allergies are just everywhere. .
There are so many different allergies out there. The most common in food would be milk, eggs, nuts, fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat. The most common airborne are plant pollens, animal dander, dust mites, mold spores, fragrances, hair dye and perfume.
