Motivation,theories and principles

While researching my given topic, I am able to gain more in depth knowledge on my coursework.
I can start to feel more confident in the topic that I have, which is the first step of motivating myself, making myself aware about what I need to know. This leads me to feel satisfied in the task that is being asked of me. From the research that I have complied, I can begin to gain and absorb the correct knowledge needed for my work, and also my course. Only after doing research and fully understanding what information I need can then gain an in depth knowledge of what I need to write about.
Another factor that motivates me as a student is the fact that I am able to learn, and by taking full advantage of this I aim to have set my self a personal performance level, which I am to keep consistent. This is my chosen performance criteria. By keeping my performance levels consistent, it motivates me in reaching the same standard each time.
The final factor that motivates me is the outcome of my assignment. I motivate myself to work hard, so that I can gain a satisfying result. This makes me feel fulfilled within myself, knowing that the effort I have put into my work, has resulted in achieving a good result . this is a good method I feel to motivate myself.
There are many theories that have been developed on human motivation. While researching for this work, I came across other theorists that have developed their ideas into models explaining their reasons. These different theorists have helped me to have a better understanding about motivation.
The two theorists that I will relate my own motivation factors to are; Maslows Hierarchy of Needs and Herzberg's motivation Hygiene theory.
Abraham Maslow developed a theory based on the idea that all humans share common needs and that these needs can be arranged in a hierarchy in order of priority. Lower level needs have the highest priority. According to Maslow, lower level needs must be satisfied before higher level needs become sources of motivation.
