Scientist from the University of California found that a marijuana-like substance reduces the pain from rats. From that they deduced that cannabinoids, and THC are potent analgesics that truly deliever pain relief. This research also indicates that marijuana may hold medical value in the treatment of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. The existing data are consistent with the idea that this would not be a problem if the medical use or marijuana were as closely regulated as other medications with abuse potential.
