Legally Blonde

The movie, Legally Blonde, revolves around the character Elle Woods, a fashion merchandising major at UCLA who comes to terms with herself and her life after breaking up with her would-have-been fiancé, Warner Huntington III. Although she is at the losing end of the situation, she confidently decides to take matters into her own hands by following Warner to Harvard Law School just to win him back. When she gets there, she finds that her plan isn't as perfect as she thought. But all is not lost. It is in law school that Elle faces all the odds and realizes many things that will help her come of age, and at the end of the movie, Elle has learned to shape and mold herself into a more mature young adult.
Elle is experiencing young, or early adulthood. This can be seen clearly as her initial problem is presented to us. She is already at a stage that defines why early adulthood is considered to be a problem age. At this point, she is thinking about selecting a mate or future spouse. In this case, she hoped it would be Warner. However, Warner was also in the process of choosing someone to settle down with, and Elle did not seem to meet his standards. He claimed that he was looking for someone more serious, someone that would complement his future career in politics and government. Since the two did not see eye to eye on the matter, they had to part ways. As expected, Elle did not take the break up lightly. In fact, it led her to a temporary period of emotional tension and isolation, which is also characteristic to the life stage. The relationship she had established with Warner was one to which she gave a lot of time and effort, and consequently, seeing it end was not an easy task. She withdrew from her usual out-going personality and stayed in her dorm for a week, doting over the loss. It was only when her close friends convinced her to get over it that she steps outside the four walls of her room.
