Have you ever been so aggravated or ticked off at someone that you would do anything on god's green earth to seek revenge on them? Revenge is the desire to inflict someone that you would do injury in return from an injury suffered. There are a few characters out to seek revenge in the play, Hamlet. The play is, basically, an ongoing battle of revenge. Hamlet is seeking revenge, for his deceased father, on king Claudius throughout the whole play, Laertes wants to avenge the death of his father and sister, Polonius and Ophelia, and Fortinbras, prince of Norway, is trying to take over Denmark because his dad was killed by the dead king of Denmark. .
A ghostly image, resembling King Hamlet, appeared to converse with young prince Hamlet. .
The ghost tells Hamlet, "The serpent that did sting thy father's life now wears his crown." (Ham. I.v. 38-39). .
The ghost explains how it was done and Hamlet decides he has an idea to seek revenge. He gets some of the actors of the play and adds in a few lines of his own. The new script depicts the death of King Hamlet in vivid detail. The actor playing King Hamlet lays down on the bench to rest. Meanwhile, the actor playing Claudius sneaks in, dressed in all black, and pours the poison in the ear of the sleeping king. The actor then picks up the crown and places it on his head, resembling that he wants to be the new king of Denmark and nothing is going to stand in his way. Hamlet's whole plan was to make the guilty conscience of Claudius come out and admit to the killing. The plan works in the fact that Claudius" guilty conscience came out, but he only showed emotion, he did not actually admit to the killing. Hamlet regretted having to be the one to avenge his father's death, but he knew it had to be done. Later in the novel, Hamlet and Laertes are in the middle of a duel. This is where the excitement begins to pick up. Laertes reveals that Claudius is the man in charge of concocting the plan to kill young Hamlet.
