Superhero movies: supersmashes or superblesses

He is unpopular, is not the best looking boy on school, gets bullied, and likes a girl who does not even seem to know he exists. It is by accident that he inherits his spider-like superpowers and uses them for selfish reasons until he learns a painful lesson. The humanity of the superhumans is the main reason for their popularity in their comic book form. Movie viewers are not so different from comic book readers in that they do often want to have some part that they can personally relate to and thus identify with the character. The characters from X-men and X2 have a special position in this because their appeal has always come largely from minority groups like African Americans and homosexuals. The mutants (Homo Superior, the race to which the characters belong), just like the aforementioned groups are daily discriminated against and confronted with violence because the so-called normal people, i.e. Caucasian males, fear what they do not understand. .
However, it was the hero that became the point of focus in the second and third sequel to Batman and Superman, which made them rather action movies, de-emphasizing or abolishing the person in the suit. Batman & Robin is the best example of this. The movie was a star-vehicle for a couple of popular actors in tightfitting colorful leather suits chasing and subsequently putting the kibosh on the bad guys. The same thing happened in largely unknown movies like Dr. Strange (1978) and Captain America (1991). The fact that they are so unknown says a lot about how they were received. The only notable exception to the rule is Blade. Just like its comic book version did the film and last year's sequel lacked much of a characterization. Both movies were, however, very well received and a third installment is already in the making. Still, it can be argued that the Blade movies are slightly different from most other superhero comic book movies considering that they are rather horror movies compared to the other flicks.
