Shakespeare's plays are usually divided into three major categories. These are comedy, tragedy, and history. Three plays which are in the category of tragedy are "Romeo and Juliet", "Titus Andronicus", and "Julius Caesar". In the category of history, three plays are "Henry V", "Richard II", and "Richard III". .
Romeo and Juliet is set in the thirteenth or fourteenth century in Italy in Verona and Mantua where the Montagues and the Capulets live and fight. Although this is where Shakespeare intended for this play to be based in, it really had no effect on the conflict or the outcome of the play for it could be put in almost any city or any time. The Capulets and the Montagues, the main families of the play, are rich and noble people who are always causing a nuisance in the town. .
The conflict of the play was that Romeo and Juliet came from two families that have been in a feud for many years. Though they have snuck their love around their parents for many days, they soon found themselves being torn apart by the ever growing hate between the two families. The two families had created so much commotion in the town that they now faced death the next time they started a street riot. .
I think that the climax of the play was when Romeo gets banished from Verona instead of being put to death.
