Attention: How many people here eat out in restaurants? I am sure you go when you don't feel like cooking or you just want to enjoy time with your family and friends. You may be saying, "Why cook?" when you can go out instead. Besides, it's not like entertaining family and friends at home is fun, or the best food comes from home, and the wait at home isn't even that short.
Transition: I am here to tell your today that eating at home is the best way to go. Hopefully, the next time you think about going out to dinner, you'll rather stay home.
Thesis: Through much research on the topic of restaurant hygiene, and throught a personal experience of eating out in restauranst, I am conviced that staying at home to eat instead or eating out in restaurants is the best way to go, and I am sure you will also agree.
Transition: You may feel that it is well worht the wait to eat in restaurants. Let me assure you that this is not the case.
I. Need.
a. It is much more comfortable and less time consuming to eat at home.
i. Most restaurants don't accept reservations.
ii. Waits are usually 30-45 minutes or more depending on the night.
iii. The length of wait is usually not short.
iv. After you have been seated, it usually takes a while for your server to take your order, and then even longer for them to bring in to you.
b. Restaurant hygiene is not always up to its expectation.
i. How many of you here actually know what goes on behind those closed doors? Do you see the cooks washing their hands or wearing gloves? Do you see them following all the rules and regulations? I am sure many of your answers to these questions are "No".
1. Did you know that according to restaurant inspectors, a restaurant is closed when an inspection score is less that 70?.
ii. Rood may not be cooked or prepared properly. If the restaurant is busy, the cooks may be forced to rush, in turn, leaving food under cooked and improperly prepared.
