One of the many things Greeks created was their beautiful artwork. They excelled in painting the human figure. They liked to paint these humans on vases as well as murals. The Greeks designed there pottery due to there different functions. As an example the Greeks mad kraters, also known as two handled vases, a very wide mouth to mix wine and olive oil in. Most of the paintings on the vases were very detailed and either had a red or black background. To determine what was to be painted on the vase or pot was determined by the size of the pottery. The Greeks made many interesting crafts from pottery to use in their everyday life. Some examples of this is a kylix, this was a wide shallow two handled drinking cup. On these different crafts they painted scenes such as children attending school, shoemakers and carpenters plying there trades, a framer with his team of oxen, or even a merchants ship blowing in the breeze. But when painters or sculptors decorated amphora's, a large vase for storing oil and other bulk supplies, they used scenes from mythology. .
This affected today's modern art incredibly. For instance without these incredible artists ideas and how talented they were in the carving and shaping and painting into these vases than we wouldn't be where we were today. The paintings we purchase wouldn't be as beautiful and wouldn't be worth as much and without this art the economy would be quite low. So that would put a huge dent in our world today if those artists hadn't been as talented and skilled. .
Architecture.
The Greeks made great architectural achievements, for instance, the understood perspective and optical illusions. So when the Greeks built temples they knew that the center of a column thicker in the middle and thinner at the top so from a distance they looked straight. The Greeks also tried to make all temples or places where the deities lived beautiful pieces of artwork.
