David said, I will bless the lord at all times, and his praise shall continually be in my mouth; my soul shall make her boast in the lord and the humble shall hear there of and be glad. Oh magnify the lord with me and let us exalt his name together. In Mark the 16th chapter, Peter has every reason to magnify the lord. This same disciple led the discussion of who would sit to Christ right and to his left. This same man answered the lord saying you art the Christ the son of the living God. This same man sat with the lord, one night before his cruxifixion and emphatically announced to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ saying "Lord I will even die with you if I have to." But before the Rooster crowed twice, this same man had denied our lord three times. No doubt Peter was in a terrible shape with many "if only" regrets" in his heart. However, there is good news from this story for when the women came to the tomb where Jesus had been buried, an angel spoke to them and said "Go tell my disciples AND Peter that I have gone on before them to Galilee, meet me there." The good news is that Jesus knew how Peter must have felt and he had already prayed for Peter that he would have faith through this troublesome time. Although Peter had failed, Jesus love did not separate him from the other. Rather, his love reached out to Peter sending the message to him which welcomed him back in his good Grace. Thank God for this special Grace, a Grace which welcomes us back time after time, picks us up and give us new beginnings. King David said, I was sinking in the miry clay but his reached down and picked me up and put my feet on a rock to stay. This rock, this new beginning is Jesus Christ. Although Peter failed, Peter heard these words and went looking for Jesus. He went looking for a new beginning with the lord. In closing, if we seek him, we will find in him a new beginning with him today. .
