A projection five years into Ralph's life.
During Ralph's unexpected stay on the Island, he found some amazing leadership skills, which if used in today's society would greatly benefit him. As Ralph grows up, he will become an exceptional leader, as long as he has the courage, will, and determination to make a difference. In five years, Ralph would be between seventeen and eighteen. The first thing to do was go back to his home; however found there was nothing left. Because the war was still a familiarity, Ralph enlists into the navy with much difficulty. Though the navy was in need of replacements, they did not want to put such a young person on the front line, but when Ralph told his story, they grudgingly admitted him. Over time and with help he becomes a respectable sailor for his young age aboard a frigate with a crew of five hundred. Though Ralph is not at all in a leadership position, he has many friends and the crew of the ship keeps him the center of all relations. Ralph has not forgotten the vivid memories of his chilling stay on the island. He often thought about the dear friends that he has lost. However, instead of mourning, he used these memories and stories to unite his crew and keep them strong and faithful. Ralph also learnt to live through the worst and is slowly becoming a more powerful thinker. He finally deciphers Simon, and discovers how to see things through the eye of the tiger, much as Simon did. With the ageing of Ralph, he becomes a more mature person and overcomes many of his childish ways. He learnt to live one day at a time, much like on the island, however is taking each situation in stride and coming up with good solutions of his own.
The captain of the ship had noticed Ralph as being a powerful person, not in raw strength but in leadership and his ability to make friends, and soon became a good friend of Ralph. One day when Ralph had a conversation with the Captain, he mentioned that his father was once a commander in the Navy.
