, a member of the Home Builders Association of Maine, started manufacturing stairs and stair parts in 1989, and incorporated in 1993. Daniel Alicea has owned and operated this company since its inception. In 1996, Anthem Stair began building its new shop and warehouse facility in Freeport, Maine to accommodate the growing company and needs of its customers. Anthem Stair has been in its facility now for seven years and they are proud to announce that their annual sales volume has now grown to over $4 million, this was made possible through the new facility having over twenty-five pieces of equipment to provide customers with the products they need.
The equipment includes a molder to make all handrail and nosing, in a variety of configurations. Their handrails are made of quality solid materials and are never finger jointed. To speed up this process a multi-station rotary glue rack was acquired, which allows Anthem Stair to work on multiple projects at one time. There is also a lathe machine that turns out newels and specialty balusters and allows Anthem Stair to do custom work for their clients. To finish their products, they have a few types of sanders, including a wide belt sander, an edge sander, and a planer. The warehouse also includes a few types of table saws to get projects started, a drill press, a shaper, a dust collection system (to control the levels of airborne dust), and forklifts to move heavy inventory and equipment. Anthem Stair has four box trucks, two pick-up trucks, a flat bed truck, and many sales team vehicles to deliver goods to their customers.
None of the equipment listed above would contribute to an efficient operation without the knowledgeable and dedicated employees that work at Anthem Stair. Anthem Stair has forty employees, including eight in administration and sales, twenty-six in the shop, and six in delivery and service. There are also a number of handrail installation teams to assist customers.
