American revolution

             Causes of the American Revolution.
The American Revolution was caused by the stupidity and ignorance of the colonists. All the British were trying to do was help and protect the colonies. Had it not been for the British, the colonies would have never made it. The British were the ones how protected the colonies during the French-Indian War even though it was very costly and put them in a huge amount of debt. The colonies would protest against anything the British did, thinking that they were doing something bad for them in some way. The colonies did not realize that the British were only trying to help them. The British helped the colonies become prosperous. All the tax laws passed were to help protect the colonies, not to screw over the colonies and make them pay more money.
The Proclamation of 1763 set down the boundaries of North America. The colonists were not allowed to expand westward. The colonies were very mad about this. The Proclamation of 1763 also established four new colonies. They wanted to expand westward for no real reason. In 1764, the sugar act was passed. The sugar act increased the taxes on foreign goods being delivered from England to the colonies. The colonists also protested this. They did not realize that the British really needed this money. These tax laws wouldn't have been needed if they wouldn't had been smuggling so much in the colonies, which disobeyed the theory of Mercantilism. The British had to pay of the expenses of running these colonies and to cover the debt of the war they were just in. This is another great example of how the colonies protested against something that was really benefiting them.
In 1764, The Currency Act was passed. This act prohibited the issue of any new bills and the reissue of existing currency. The colonies once again protested against this act. This act had to be passed though because there was way too much confusion about this.
