The meaning of this sonnet is about a man who is seeking love from his beloved, showing her she would do anything fro her, yet in return she responses with cruel intentions, not loving him back, and not caring. Shows how determined he is, and how much he loves her and trying to get her to show the same attention as he does. The sonnet also tells us in a bad situation, deal with the outcome and try to find a way to succeed. Don't waste your time trying to hard and coming out worse than it started.
The reason I choose this sonnet was because it shows a good picture of the ups and downs of seeking true love. In our society, everyone tries to find their right match, but their outcomes are sometimes opposite of what the looked for. It takes time, but in the end if you search and take chances you will find your right match.
The first couplet shows the blindness the poet now is not evident in his behavior, showed in the rest of the sonnet. His love for her makes him unable to wrench himself away from the woman whom he thinks he should despise. One has to add mentally some additional explanation as to why the mistress loves those who can see in preference to those who can't. The concluding couplet seems more like a desperate throwing in of the towel. Recognizing that there is no explanation of her cooling love, or none that could satisfy him, and so he casts around for an answer.
The only really figurative language examples I found were in lines5, and 6. Thee, and that, and thus and that; examples of alliteration.
This poem makes me think about the search for the right love. Knowing that you car for someone who is special in your life, but not getting the love you deserve back is not worth the time. Don't be blinded by only the outside of someone. It's the inner beauty that counts.
